Circuit Touristique " au fil de l'eau et des Vignes " a Gondrin

Water is omnipresent in all the hamlets of the village of Gondrin; at every turn you will find water, whether miraculous, sacred, spring or pleasure…
The start of the “Au fil de l'eau et des vignes” circuit is located at the Lasdoutz washhouse (1), it is an impluvium washhouse with a fireplace, a round basin and a beautiful frame.
The main building dates from 1862. The spring water from the washhouse is used to fill the leisure park basin.
Take the road again on the left and pass in front of the cross, continue the road until the Peyruc wash house (2) which is located below on the left side after the car park, it is the wash house for the inhabitants of the hamlet located above. It includes a spring, a channel and a trough with incorporated washing benches.
Taking the road again on the left, you will see the small stone cabin of Lian (3) on the right with a very beautiful view of the vineyards and the Pyrenees in good weather. It sheltered winegrowers to take a meal break or take refuge in rainy weather.
Continue your path by turning right, you will see the Bouscas estate (4) on the left, where the winegrower works biodynamically.
Take the road again after having turned left then pass near the place called “La Maison Neuve”, turn left. You will then arrive on the small Osse bridge and go up towards the place called Tilladet where you can see the exterior a pretty house. Continue the road and you arrive at a stop sign, cross the secondary road and take the small road opposite which winds through the middle of immense oaks to
arrive at the hamlet of Polignac. On the left, you will discover the Church of Polignac (5) surrounded by vineyards, in neo-Gothic style, which was restored and enlarged in 1879. The domain of Polignac (6) is right next door if you retrace your steps and by turning left then right, you can then taste floc or armagnac and see the spring located just at the bottom of the estate.
Your escapade will continue by turning left in front of the estate, passing near the place called Mian on the right, a place steeped in history which belonged to the Cistercian monks at the end of the 13th century. You will also see remains of the old windmill next door. The walk continues by entering the hamlet and at the very end on the left is the Carreté wash house (7).
After parking, you can go down on foot, it is at the bottom of the field, you will have to go down into the small woods to see it more closely. Retrace your steps to the intersection, and go straight on, to make a short getaway to the village of Roques classified 3 flowers, continuing the road. Or follow the circuit by retracing your steps to the Polignac estate then turn left, go down the hill which will take you to the intersection with the Vic-Fezensac road (D35) and you will then go straight on. Cross the bridge, on the left at a place called Caubet then turn left twice to the Caubet washhouse (8) full of flowers along the roadside on the right, whose construction dates back to 1853.
Retrace your steps and take the road on your left. You will pass in front of the place called Toumieu, and at the top turn right and climb the ridge on the right, then right again. You will follow the ridge line, always turning left. You will then arrive at the Guillaman estate (9), a wine property for 6 generations. Then take the road again on your right to the Cassou farm (10) which will then be on your left to discover duck specialties, but also take a gourmet break at the farm inn. Take the road again on your left, then at the stop sign turn right towards Gondrin. You will then turn left to take the Roman road and 100 meters away you will see the Ménard estate (11) on your right to taste wine. This is an area where we find remains of large oyster fossils when the sea occupied the region at the time. You will retrace your steps and head towards the tourist office, you will notice a circular pool of 80 m in diameter fed by spring water, the Leisure Park (12), which attracts up to 100 visitors in summer.
You will turn left at the corner of the tourist office, you will go around the Place de la Liberté towards Lagraulet. On the left, you will go down the hill to discover the Gouttère wash house (13) on the right. A small footpath will take you there.
You will retrace your steps and go back up rue des Cornières with the
half-timbered houses. Take a detour through Place Montespan, turning right after the Town Hall to take a break near the fountain, then turn in front of the Saint-Martin Church and appreciate its partly Romanesque architecture. Go down the entire rue de Gigougny, passing under the porch and the old door dug into the fortifications and you will turn left. Head to the right and continue along the wall of the cemetery, you will see on the left an old dovecote at a place called la Tuilerie, continue the road in
along the pond then turn left.
Going down you will arrive at the Tonneteau estate (14), which offers “traditional flavored Champagne method” and wines from the Gascony coasts.
Below, you will see the Sanctuary of Notre Dame de Tonetau (15) with the chapel in front of you which dates from the 19th century, located on the site of an “appearance of the virgin” in the 16th century. Over the centuries,
several chapels were built.
On the right side you can see the bathing establishment which ceased to operate in 1942. Going down you will see the miraculous spring as well as its outdoor chapel nestled in the hollow of a magnificent park of century-old trees. Retrace your steps to the estate and take rue Maurice Aydalot on the left until you reach the stop sign to find the entrance to Gondrin.
For safety reasons you will only be able to use the D931 road by car. Then turn left towards Condom and follow the road for two kilometers and you will arrive at the Lassalle de Batz distillery (16) located on the left just before the lake. You will then be able to visit a distillation workshop equipped with traditional Armagnac stills and learn the secrets of the precious brandy in the aging cellar. Then you will retrace your steps and turn left on the secondary road to stop at the Domaine des Cassagnoles (17) located on the side of the road 500 meters on the left side. You will be able to discover a whole range of wines, floc and Armagnac as well as delicacies associated with these products. You will then take the road again to the Lasdoutz wash house.
For the more experienced cyclists, you have the possibility of reaching the two wine estates via the greenway which is located below rue Maurice Aydalot just before the picnic tables. Once on the track, simply turn right towards Condom, go under the bridge, near the old station then under the Perras bridge and you will take the second exit, at a place called Caillau, you will follow the yellow markings and pass in front of the chapel of Marrast surrounded by vineyards, which will be on the left then you will continue until a crossroads, you will turn right to arrive at the Château de Lassalle from above. Then the Cassagnoles area will be 300 m away.
