Église de l'Immaculée Conception

Although of older occupation, the village of Belmont only appears in texts at the end of the XNUMXth century, the Gothic period from which the parish church of the Immaculate Conception is inspired, even if its date of construction remains unknown.
Remodeled in the middle of the XNUMXth century, the current building still remains camped at the eastern end of the village, watching over the graves in the cemetery that surrounds it.

After passing through a small narthex, you enter the nave, under the bell tower which rises in this part of the church.
There we will notice a large painting almost 3m high by Murillo formerly kept in the Prado Museum in Madrid.

On the opposite side is the choir where 3 bays open decorated with XNUMXth century stained glass windows representing the Virgin, Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and Saint Bernadette.
Around the altar, carved wooden panels depict the Apostles.
