Église Sainte Marie Madeleine

Altar: the front face has 3 niches with very low arches. These niches are decorated with bas reliefs: in the center, appearance of Our Lord Jesus to Mary Magdalene after his resurrection. He is holding a gonfalon.
On the left kneeling Madeleine receives forgiveness from the savior. 3 Pharisaic doctors of the law seated, contemplating the scene. On the right 8 characters. The savior raising his hand said: Lazarus is coming outside. Another figure lifts the tomb lid and Lazarus rises from the grave. St Joseph Chapel to the north: Gothic stained glass window: St Joseph. Chapel of the Virgin at noon: Gothic stained glass window: the Virgin Mother. Stained glass windows of the nave: north. 3rd stained glass window: Saint Madeleine, holding a vase of perfumes. Noon: stained glass window: St Pierre. History: The church of Castelnau must have fallen under the blows of the English during the Hundred Years' War, because the current church dates from the end of the 100th century. Work was being done on its reconstruction in 1545. It is an unfinished Gothic monument, the waiting stones are visible in front of the facade. A square tower, to the right of the church. The church door was fitted with a temporary arched doorway with a triangular pediment. The apse of the church is small because a larger space has been reserved for the faithful. Around the altar 2 statues: on the left Mary Magdalene with her vase of perfumes for embalming (patron of the parish) and on the right: the statue of the Sacred Heart.
