Village de Marguestau

Marguestau is the smallest commune in the Community of Communes of Grand Armagnac.
An ancient Visigothic stronghold, from which it takes its name, Marguestau is located on an ancient castrum which guarded the Roman road coming from Réans towards the West and of which only a few vestiges remain today.
Thus, the Church of Our Lady of the Nativity and its surroundings seem to be installed on a ditch system which may be reminiscent of a castrum.
The semi-circular apse of the church, topped with a pyramidal roof covered in slate and festooned with a genoise, is pierced by 2 round-arched windows.
A square bell tower rises almost directly above the west facade.

At the corner of the street leading to the church, a small oratory is dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes.
You can also see in the town, an Armagnac-style dovecote with a square base and half-timbered structure.
