Village de Noulens

The village, perched on a right bank ledge, dominates the Gélise valley. It is the beginning of the Bas-Armagnac region which continues west towards Eauze.
The name Noulens seems to indicate a settlement in the first centuries of the Middle Ages, but no archaeological traces remain.
The main economic activity is viticulture and seed corn cultivation.
THE PARISH CHURCH, of Romanesque foundation, was built in several campaigns. Surrounded by its cemetery, it has an openwork nave with semi-circular windows, a choir from the end of the XNUMXth century whose exterior plan can still be seen in the current chapel, an apse with raw brick walls and a XNUMXth century sacristy. century as well as a square bell tower, with two floors, ending in a polygonal spire. The altar of the Virgin, from the XNUMXth century, is decorated with a tabernacle in the shape of an urn.

FROM THE CHATEAU, from the 17th – 18th centuries, we discover a lovely view of the surrounding hills and the Pyrenees.
