Journée Groupes : En Armagnac, entre patrimoine, traditions et dégustations

The appointment is given in front of the Labastide d'Armagnac tourist office (40) which you can reach on foot from the bus parking, 5 minutes away.

9 a.m.: follow the guide to discover Labastide d'Armagnac, founded in 1291 by Count Bernard VI of Armagnac and the King of England. The square is still surrounded by the same arcades with covered passages. The half-timbered houses overlooking the Place Royale make it original and charming. It is dominated by the impressive fortress church. Inside, the sumptuous decoration of the bedside is all the more surprising as it is a trompe-l'oeil created in 1831 by Céroni, an Italian artist. Henri de Navarre made several stays at the Malartic house, overlooking the Place Royale. Legend has it that when he became Henry IV, he was inspired by it to build the Place des Vosges in Paris.
11 a.m.: meet at Maison Armagnac Gascogne in Eauze: guided tour of the reception area dedicated to Floc de Gascogne, Côtes de Gascogne wines and Armagnac followed by a Masterclass: commented tasting with presentation of the vineyard , the history and creation of the products and everything that surrounds them: dishes are associated with the tasting of each of these specialties.
13 p.m.: lunch in a typical Eauze restaurant, on Place Armagnac (aperitif, starter, main course, dessert, wine and coffee included)
14:30 p.m.: free time to stroll through the heart of the capital of Armagnac, and discover its street art frescoes, its cathedral, its half-timbered houses.
16 p.m.: guided visit to an Armagnac producer: discovery of the distillery, stills, aging cellars and tasting of the oldest brandy in France.
