Formerly Lupiac was at the center of immense forests populated by wolves hence its name. In 1819 Mr. de Lacoste, Mayor of Lupiac and Lieutenant of the wolf pack, noted that fourteen wolves, she-wolves and cubs were killed on the territory of the commune, then nineteen the following year. And it was around 1850 that wolves disappeared from the region.

Two wolves then appear on the village coat of arms.

The Château de Lamotte d’Izault

This important castle had numerous farms and wind and water mills. Today it houses the Town Hall, the village hall and rooms made available to village associations.

Every year, since 2012, all the villagers transform the village and go back in time. Welcome to the 17th century! Immersed on a fair day in Lupiac, at the time of d'Artagnan, what would you tell me? 

It's more than 500 volunteers dressed in tailor-made costumes by the village seamstresses, it is a fifty Musketeers on horseback, on foot, they are stalls full of artisans, there are fights, duels, dances, songs, it is a place overflowing with life. 

Don't miss this eXtraOrdinary day every 2nd weekend of August.
